About our Speaker:

José Carlos Gutiérrez Martínez — or simply José — is a Mexican graphic designer, illustrator, and art director who loves seeing how God uses creativity to touch hearts and tell stories of hope. He has served as art mentor for Je Bulle en BD in France, a Christian art and comics camp in Alsace where young artists explored faith through storytelling, color, and imagination in a joyful, Christ-centered community. His illustrations have also been published in the UK, including the 2025 children’s book Who Invented Sisters? (Dernier Publishing).

As President of COMIX35 Next Gen, José leads an international Christian comics ministry that equips and connects storytellers around the world to share the Gospel through art. His collaborations include creative projects across Latin America and Africa, such as Timazi Magazine in Kenya.

José lives in Mexico City with his wife and two children. He loves stories, sketchbooks, and seeing God’s truth and beauty expressed through art.
